General Questions

How long does it take to play a round of golf?
We have 18 holes of Black Light golf set on approximately 6000 sq. feet.  It typically takes 35- 60 minutes depending on speed of play, skill levels, and size of group.  

Can I schedule a tee time?
We do not take reservations for walk-in play.   Players are taken in the order that they pay at the register.  Birthday Parties and other Group events do take priority.

What is an appropriate age to play the miniature golf course?
Black light miniature golf is fun for all ages but we recommend ages 3 years and older. 

What is Balladium & Ballaster?
They are a high energy, interactive, action packed air cannon gaming system where you  try to score points for your team by hitting  targets while being blasted by your opponents. Balladium is located at our Atascocita location and Ballaster is located at our Woodlands location.

What is an appropriate age to play the Balladium / Ballaster?
Balladium is fun for all ages but we recommend ages 4 years and older.

Is Shankz for birthday parties only?
No, walk-in play is always welcome.  We also welcome private parties, team building, fundraisers, field trips, church groups, and team parties.  Please call to schedule your group event.

Can I take my birthday party group in to play?
You are always welcome to celebrate a birthday or special occasion with us by coming in to play golf  as a group but out side food, cake, and presents are not permitted unless you have a reserved  party time due to the limited sitting area which is for our walk-in traffic use.   Please consider one of our party packages for use of our tables and extended time in Shankz.

Can I bring outside food in?
Outside food is NOT permitted. 

Can I take pictures or videos?
Pictures and videoing are allowed but should not slow or interrupt play.

Can I bring my own putter and ball? 
We ask that you only use our balls and putters. 

I understand that Shankz is 3-D; can I bring my own glasses from home?
You’re welcome to try 3-D glasses from home, but it’s unlikely that they will work.  We have special 3-D glasses for just $2.00 and they’re yours to keep.

Birthday Party Questions

Is a reservation required for a birthday party?
Yes, all birthday parties must be scheduled through Shankz.  You are always welcome to celebrate a birthday or special occasion with us by coming in to play golf  as a group but outside food, cake, and presents are not permitted unless you have a reserved  party time due to the limited sitting area which is for our walk-in traffic use. 

How do I schedule a party?
Stop by during business hours or for your convenience just give us a call  or email us to request a date.

Is a deposit required?
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your party. Deposits can be made by phone with a credit or debit card.  The balance is due and payable at the end of your party.

How many guests can I invite?
That is up to you.  We just need to know approximately how many guests you expect so that we can staff appropriately.

Is the birthday child included in the number of kids for a birthday package?
Yes.

Is there an additional charge for siblings? 
Any sibling that participates in the party will be counted as part of the party.

What time should my guests and I arrive at the party?
We ask that your guests arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled party time to allow time for your party host to get groups together and go over rules of play with your guests.  Parties start playing the miniature golf at your scheduled party time.
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled party time in order to meet your host and go over any last minute items.

Does the party host accompany us on the golf course?
Your party host will go with the first group of players to keep score and manage the flow of play.  We encourage one adult to play or keep score for each additional group of players.

What does the party host do?
In addition to accompanying the party on the golf course, your party host will set up your party area; serve pizza, drinks, and cake; help with opening gifts; make a list of gifts received; and clean up after your party so that you can relax and enjoy the experience!

Can I use my own decorations and/or paper products in the party room?
Yes, you may use your own decorations and/or paper products in the party area.   We do not permit wall or ceiling decorations, silly string, confetti, or piñatas.

Are gratuities (tips) appropriate?
Gratuities for your party host are always greatly appreciated.

What do I need to bring to the party?
You will need to bring either a cake, cup cakes, or cookie cake and candles.  We provide plates, utensils, serving knife, and lighter. 

Can I bring other food and beverages to my party?
We're sorry but outside food is NOT permitted except for the birthday cake, cup cakes, or cookie cake.  Additional pizzas and drinks may be purchased for adults.  Please let us know prior to your party if you would like to order additional pizzas.

What if I need to reschedule my party?
We require at least 7 days advance notice if you need to reschedule your party (your party must be rescheduled within 2 months of the original party date).  Remember that your deposit is non-refundable (sorry-no exceptions). 

How long does the party last?
A Standard Party is scheduled for 1 hour 30 minutes, a Premium Party for 1 hour 45 minutes, and an Ultimate Party for 2 hours.  These times are approximate based on party size, ages, and skill levels which attribute to the actual time on the course.  Your host will do their best to stay on track with the set party times.
