This Privacy Notice explains how Shankz Golf & Arcades (“Shankz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit shankzgolf.com, communicate with us, book a party or event, purchase tickets or gift cards, or visit our venue at 3091 College Park Drive, Suite 270, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.

By providing personal information to us, you acknowledge that it will be handled as described in this Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice is not intended to obtain consent where applicable law requires a separate, affirmative consent.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide

We may collect:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or billing address.
  • Booking and transaction information, such as event date, group size, package selections, food and beverage selections, game-card selections, special requests, purchases, and payment status.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party processors, including InterCard and Square. We do not store complete payment-card numbers on our own systems.
  • Communications and content you submit, such as inquiries, messages, reviews, feedback, and survey responses.

Information collected automatically

When you use our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, and interactions with the website. We may collect this information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies supplied by providers such as Squarespace, Google Analytics, and Meta.

Information collected at our venue

  • Age verification. Guests who wish to purchase or consume alcohol must present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. We inspect the ID to verify age and validity but do not intentionally copy or retain the ID information.
  • Security footage. We use security cameras in and around the venue to promote safety, investigate incidents, and protect guests, employees, and property.
  • Event photography and video. We may photograph or record activity at the venue or during events for operational or promotional purposes. If you do not want to be featured in promotional content, please notify a team member. When reasonably practicable, we will honor the request.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Process and administer bookings, purchases, payments, event requests, and related communications.
  • Provide customer service and respond to questions, feedback, and requests.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website, venue, products, and services.
  • Personalize website content and measure the effectiveness of our advertising and marketing.
  • Send promotional messages when permitted by law and consistent with your communication choices.
  • Verify age and comply with alcohol-service requirements and other legal obligations.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and unlawful conduct.
  • Enforce our policies and Terms of Service and protect the rights, safety, and property of Shankz, our guests, our employees, and others.
  • Maintain business, tax, accounting, and legal records.

3. Email and Text Communications

We may use the contact information you provide to send transactional communications related to a request, purchase, booking, or event, including confirmations, reminders, service updates, and responses to your questions.

We send marketing emails or promotional text messages only as permitted by applicable law. Where affirmative consent is required, we will request it separately. Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of making a purchase or booking an event.

Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of promotional text messages by replying STOP and may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email. Opting out of marketing communications will not prevent us from sending non-marketing messages concerning an existing transaction, booking, or service request.

4. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose personal information:

  • To vendors and service providers that perform services for us, such as Squarespace, InterCard, Square, booking and scheduling providers, email and text providers, analytics providers, advertising partners, IT providers, and professional advisers.
  • To comply with law, legal process, court orders, or lawful government or law-enforcement requests.
  • When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or unlawful activity, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Shankz, our guests, our employees, or others.
  • In connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, sale of assets, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other business transaction.
  • At your direction or with your consent.

Our use of analytics and advertising technologies may constitute “targeted advertising” or a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged. Where applicable, you may opt out as described in Section 8.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website traffic and usage, detect problems, and measure or improve marketing. These technologies may be provided by Squarespace, Google Analytics, Meta, and other providers and may collect information about your device and your interactions with our website over time.

You may control cookies through your browser settings and, if available on our website, through our cookie-preference tool. Blocking certain cookies may affect website functionality. You may also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Where required by law, we will provide a method to opt out of targeted advertising or other covered processing.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our venue is family friendly, but our website and online booking services are intended for adults, including parents and guardians making arrangements for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and, when appropriate, delete it.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, including to provide services, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal, tax, accounting, and security requirements.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you. Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may also have the right to:

  • Correct inaccuracies in your personal information.
  • Delete personal information provided by or obtained about you.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling.
  • Appeal our decision regarding a privacy request.
  • Exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination.

An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of the agent’s authority and verification of your identity. If we deny an appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Texas Attorney General or the appropriate regulator in your state.

You may opt out of marketing communications as described in Section 3. You may also adjust cookie settings as described in Section 5.

9. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website may link to or integrate with websites and services operated by third parties, including booking, payment, social-media, and mapping providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.

10. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post the revised version on our website and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the website after an update means the revised notice will apply to information collected after the updated notice becomes effective, subject to applicable law.
